Forgotten Coast Dolphin and Snorkeling Tour departing from Port St. Joe, FL

Description

The Ultimate Adventure on The Forgotten Coast of Florida!

Activity details:

The Forgotten Coast is an area about an hour east of Panama City Beach that stretches from Mexico Beach to Apalachicola. This area features very small, quaint, uncrowded beach towns and secluded waterways teeming with marine life. It’s also known as Old Florida, with few flashy tourist attractions.

We start our journey in the heart of Port St. Joe and head out into St. Joseph Bay Aquatic Preserve.

St. Joseph Bay is an Aquatic Preserve has some of the healthiest sea grasses in the state of Florida. 80% of the marine wildlife in Florida depends on these grasses for survival. This makes this area magical for shallow water snorkeling. There are also quite a few sunken ships and structures in deeper water (about 25 feet of water) for those more experienced free divers.

During our Port St. Joe excursions, we often spot dolphin pods in their natural environment, largely undisturbed, allowing you to observe their authentic, untamed behaviors. We are frequently the only vessel nearby, and we have a hydrophone to allow us to listen to their fascinating vocalizations!

Discover fascinating facts about our local marine life and the St. Joseph Bay ecosystem.

Our wildlife adventures allow us to search for a diverse array of marine life, with sightings often including turtles, various invertebrate species, rays, fish, manatees, sharks, and an assortment of migratory bird species.

We also explore pristine secluded beaches that are only easily accessible by boat. These beaches are amazing for  shell collectors or just taking in and admiring the beauty of this special place! There is a good chance you will be the only people around for miles.

This area has unique history dating back to the seventeenth century, 1800s, the civil war, and WWII. History buffs, make sure to ask Captain Lorraine about historical points of interest along the way.

This is the ultimate tour for nature lovers and people looking to get away from the crowds for a day!

If you are here for the day we can also give you some pointers on unique things to do on the Forgotten Coast and recommend some of the best local eateries in town.
